I am not sure I am posting this in the right place but here goes anyway.

I use the Audible app to listen to books while walking the dog. So this evening I started My animals and other animals by Clare Balding. I loved the first chapter about the family boxer dog. But the second chapter was about the race horse Mill Reef, before my time so didnt know the story. Well I was in floods of tears but couldn't stop listening, I must have looked totally deranged.

Please can anyone who may have read/listened to this already warn me if this is only suitable for consumption on my own? Or can I risk it for future dog walking?

TIA

Who cares if you looked deranged ?? I love it when a book makes me cry I have read that book its mostly funny there are a few sad bits but that is life ,it is more funny than sad though, so you will be still viewed as deranged because you will be laughing out loud as well xx

I am going to stick with it as it must be stirring stuff to prompt such a strong reaction. I have been looking forward to it for ages too.

Someone gave it to me, and I just didn't fancy it...I gave it to the charity shop.

This is a lovely, well written autobiography. I love the way she measures her life by the animals she loved. It is sad sometimes, but also funny and intelligent.

Got this for Christmas and enjoyed it immensely. It seems like an honest, humorous and, yes, sometimes moving autobiography. I liked CB before reading this and now am a big fan.

I like her, I am very tempted, though have so many books in my to read pile, I can't currently justify the £4.99 it is on Kindle (though I realise that is not expensive for a book!)
