Anyone reading Philip Pullman's "The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ" at the mo?

I wouldn't normally read religious fiction but I like Pullman so I thought I'd give this a go. It's unlike any other Pullman that I've read. I'm only a 1/3 of the way through, and like any modern fable the time's taken in reading between the lines more thananything else. I can't quite decide whether I'm enjoying this one or not! Anyone else reading/read this one?

I read it a couple of weeks ago and I liked it but like you I wasn't sure wheather it was enjoyable. I read it all and just treated it as a different slant on bible stories.

yep, i think there are lots of clever messages hidden away in there, e.g. how events can be retold/storytelling, but for me I don't think its a page-turner!

but worth a read from a fictional perspective
