Hi,

I’m a slimming world lover but haven’t followed the plan for weeks and want a complete change and bit more flexibility, so I joined WW today and will do it for four months. I do eventually plan to go back to slimming world because I do like it and can’t afford WW prices for ever.

I get 23 dailies and 35 weeklies. I go to Australia in 7 weeks and would like to have lost as much as possible by then. I weigh about 12 stone and would like to be 10. I’m 5’3.

The WW app so far seems really good.

Can anyone tell me how much they lost in the first couple week? Or what to expect weight loss wise. In 4 months I’d like to lose 2 stone then go back to slimming world for the last stone.

Thanks xx

I’ve been on WW for 4 months now (started NY Day) with the intention of going from 11 stone to 9 (and a bit - basically 70kg to 58kg). I am a teeny bit disappointed I am now 62.9kg - I’ve only lost just over a stone. I’d hoped to have lost more by now.

But that said there are probably things I could have done for a faster loss, like give up alcohol completely. I have been tracking it and never exceeding my weekly allowance, but I suspect that giving it up entirely and consuming the same number of points in food might have resulted in better loss. But if this is going to be a permanent loss I have to be able to live a normal life. I have drastically cut my alcohol consumption since before New Year but I don’t want to give it up entirely.

If you’re looking to lose weight for a particular event then you may want to be a little more aggressive for a faster weight loss.

HTH. Good luck!

Hi. I lost 4lb the first week and 1.5 the second. I get 23 dailies and 28 weeklies. I haven’t managed to stay within my limit a single week yet, but I have lost over 8lb in 4 weeks and am very happy with that. I am a little shorter than you, middle aged and find it really hard to diet! Good luck!

Hello, I lost 3 pounds the first week and half a pound the second. Next weigh in is Tuesday. As a pp said, it needs to be sustainable for the long term and whilst I have reduced alcohol, I will confess to using all my weeklies for wine at the weekends. I'm going to see what weigh in this week brings and if I stay the same or lose half a pound, I will have to re address the wine situation. Also, I am 45 and have to accept that the weight loss will be slower than it was in my 20s and 30s but slow and steady is more sustainable hopefully. BTW I am 5 ft 6 and 10 stone 1. Aiming to get to 9 stone 5.

They recommend loosing about 5 pounds a month, as that's sustainable long term

WW is not a crash diet. I did find I lost weight slowly but fairly straightforwardly, something I have found difficult with other diets. I also found the WW system good, the app good, and recipes tasty and simple.

I think their main criteria is a broad range of food groups - but definitely pointing towards low density calorie food so you feel fuller - and away from processed stuff.
