I always thought weight watchers was a load of shit but I've just been to visit my my after she's lost 2 stone on ww and is now the thinnest she's ever been. I'm convinced.

So I'm 5.10in and weight 10st 11lbs. I want to weigh 10stone.

I have a number of motivations including new clothes that are too tight, an exotic holiday and I'm getting married - I couldn't ask for more motivation!

I don't have time however to go to meetings so I'm going to try and do it myself. According to an online calculator I should allow myself 24 points per day in order to reach a target of 10st. I'm in no rush. I'm also doing 30 day shred.

So I've bought myself some ingredients to do ww spag bol etc and bought some ready meals for work and ww yogurts etc. Do you reckon it's do-able? I've tried every other diet from atkins to 0-fat etc but because I'm not actually "over weight" it's so difficult to lose anything Sad

Its doable, but definitely not on 24 points. 26 is the absolute minimum anyone should be on. Plus 49 weeklies, which ideally you should use. On 24p your body would go into starvation mode. You know you can do WW as an online member and weigh at home, I cxant remember how much it is but its pretty cheap plus yoiu get access to all the resources which I find are invaluable.

PS, trust me on this one - I've lost 88lbs since Easter 2013!

Definitely doable. Try WW online (I have the app on my phone) and track that way.
I joined up via Quidco and got a great deal, and money back.

And echoing what SuperDuper said; it's a minimum of 26 points per day plus 49 points to use over the week.

Good luck!

Ok I'm going to allow myself 26 points to avoid starvation mode but I'm worried as this seems to mean eating more than I normally do!!

So this is a diet plan I have come up with for Monday -

breakfast - bran flakes and a banana (2 points)

Lunch - ww chicken hot pot and ww yogurt (7 points)

dinner - ww spaghetti bolognese recipe (9 points)

this makes me short on points but it's more than what I'd normally eat so does anyone have any tiips on pushing up my intake?

Personally I've lost alot of weight on ww (around 4 stone so far) but could never have managed it on my own, I need the weekly weigh in at the very least for motivation.

What about doing filling and healthy? That's what I've been doing since its been released and it seems to be working a treat. Then counting my extra points on top.

2 points for bran flakes? That's either 20g of bran flakes dry, or 10g with around 150ml skimmed milk. Ie, a tiny tiny tiny amount. So there's a say to increase your points intake, eat a proper breakfast. Try including nuts, healthy oils etc. I really mean it that if you don't eat enough, you won't lose. 1 point is equal to approx 40 calories, so unless you're pointing incorrectly, you're telling us you're going to have around 720 calories a day?

If you've been eating less than the equivalent of 26pp a day, that's probably why you're not losing. Your body is clinging onto what it's got!

Ok thanks for the advice. I'll try it at 26 points a day.

So today I've had belvita biscuits for brekkie (6 points), WW soup and ww naan bread (5 points) and tonight I'll be having ww curry and rice (9 points) and a ww yogurt (1 point).

That leaves me 5 points to find as I don't want to go under my allowance. Any ideas of a late night snack I can have for around 5 points?

What are weeklies btw? is it like a weekend blow-out?

Is that everything that you eat and drink in a day? What about milk in you tea/coffee?

I'd be starving if I ate that little. Do you cook? You can eat loads more if you bulk up your meals with free veg.

The 49 weeklies are to use up whenever you like over the week. Lots of people save them for the weekend but you don't have to.
