WEIGHT GAIN AFTER WEIGHT LOSS

karen90 · 17/03/2010 11:44

I jointed weight watchers a couple of weeks ago and had my first weigh in last week when i lost 5 1/2 lbs. This week i put on a 1 lb and yet I stuck to the diet religiously.

Any one have any ideas

Could just be your body getting used to the change in diet. Also, if you didn't track, eating fewer points than you're supposed to can actually make you gain rather than lose. Weird but true. Don't give up though and, ask your leader for advice. That's what she/he's there for. HTH
Congrats for the 5.5 lbs btw.

Could you have lost a lot of water that first week and your weight loss was really say 2 and 1/2 lb, and you've actually lost another 2lb this week (if water back in system iyswim)? My weight fluctuates wildly when I'm due on a period, usually due to water.

May be, but you feel so disheartened!

I know you do [sympathetic emoticon]

Try to keep in mind that 4 1/2 lb loss in 2 weeks is really fantastic, and the ideal rate of weight loss too. Any quicker and you might have problems keeping the weight off.

You've done fabulously well so far - don't give up now!

Ah, my leader has been pretty useless too, sadly. It is disheartening but, as with MrsSawdust, water retention prior to period always make me dread weighing in. It's early days, so stick with it and see what happens at next weigh-in. I for one have got used to the ups and downs (12 months of WW and counting) but it's so worth sticking at it.

remember if your leader is no good then complain to head office - they'll have no way of knowing about it otherwise

I did WW a couple of years ago and have to say I really wasn't impressed with the leader and ended up leaving. I found the first couple of weeks so hard and felt like I was starving, she just said oh well you will get used to it.....Not very encouraging! I agree with Joby and wish I had complained at the time instead of giving up...

Am doing a LC diet at the moment with company called GoLower and what a difference. There is a counsellor support line and they are so upbeat and positive and give me lots of pratical advice plus emotional support.
