Evening all,

Well I am starting on plan tomorrow, to try and get all this weight off and if I'm totally honest, I am scared stiff.

I have decided to do a detox for the first 5 days, mainly because of all the junk I have eaten and the medication I have taken whilst having the flu over christmas. I am doing weight watchers as I know this plan inside out and feel that it works for me.

I have bought some scales which tell me my body fat as well as record how much I have lost and I am going to get weighed once a week.

I have also just bought a cross trainer, but, can't use that as the heaviest weight allowed is 18st and I am 21 1/2 st, so at least I have my first goal.

If anyone has any tips or advice they would be GREATLY appreciated.

TIA

Good luck!

My personal trainer dropped from 21st to 10st in a year - she was fairly fanatical about the exercise though - she also did WW. I have heard though that it is best to try a different diet if you have been unsuccessful on one before, so it might be worth trying SW or Conley?

Thanks for that, the only reason the ww was unsuccessful was becuase I started eating all the junk again and drinking wine, it was through no fault of ww as I was getting constant results;

I think if I was to do a detox my body would collapse with shock! Seriously I'm starting tomorrow too - I'm doing SW cos I know it works for me. Need to find some exercise too - have been off work for 7 weeks with broken foot - going back tomorrow but can't run or do anything heavy on my foot.
Would like to go walking but at the moment its's been snowing and has now frozen on top - don't want to fall again
Remember to drink lots of water - I'm quite good at this in the summer but not so good in the winter when it's cold.
Good luck for tomorrow - You CAN do it!!!

Bubbles - shall I join you in the effort and we compare notes? Might be an incentive to stick to it . I have to loose about 2st after baby #2 and way too much food over Christmas. In theory I know exactly what I need to do, but so far never quite could be bothered. Now am fed up though with feeling bloated. I was just going to start with watching what I'm eating and walking and running after my 2 kids and dh

As for the scales that give you the body fat count... don't take them to seriously. I've got one too, and they're good for an indication but a far cry from accurate. My dad, who's a rake (hate him ) weighed first himself and then again with his suitcase as he had to make sure he wasn't over the limit... lonebehold... when holding the suitcase his bodyfat had increased... must have been a rather fatty suitcase iykwim

MrsBigDrumsADrumming that would be great comparing notes, all I will be doing for the next 5 days though is drinking this detox stuff and eating nuts and fresh fruit and veg etc. Its a detox from boots and I have done it before and find it really good and it tastes quite nice too.

I haven't really bought them for the body count, but more for the fact that it records weight loss and tells you how much you have lost.

Bubbles - I know that detox plan... tasts rather revolting but will flush the system. Careful though, if you start feeling ill it's better to discontinue. Oh and easy on the nuts . Can't do detox myself as I've got extremely low blood pressure and blood sugar levels, so I'd be conking out left right and centre. Well that's my excuse anyhow and I'm sticking with it . Anyhow am on antibiotics at the mo for a kidney infection (what a start into the new year!) and am living on a diet of cranberry juice galore.

I can't stand cranberry juice, but unfortunately was plagued with UTI's when pregnant with dd1 and dd2, so HAD to drink loads. Saying that, I do like the Cranberry and Raspberry mullerlights.

don't like those, but Ocean Spray now does a lot of Cranberry & something else so makes it more bearable to drink it

Should really drink it though as its really good for you, saying that I do drink a hell of alot of water and I know some people can't function without a coffee in the morning, but I can't function without a pint of dilute orange. I'm also going to start taking 1500mg vitamin c and evening primrose oil with starflower.

Bubbles, where do you get the evening primrose with starflower?

I got mine from Holland and Barrett online, if I remember correctly, I got a good discount.

Have a look further down this page, they are good, though slightly expensive, I'm sure that you could get them cheaper if you looked around.
