That's the jist of it really - anyone care to join me?

I need to focus on making healthier choices rather than dieting which is not sustainable for me. No obsessing about what the scales say and instead focus on the positives and how they make me feel.

It's not a quick fix but it's a lifetime one!

I like that idea.. as soon as I start a diet I want to binge on everything in sight!
I have 5 stone to lose!

I'm also a binge eater - I have almost 4st to lose so I'm with you there!

Starting tomorrow, I think it'll be a struggle to start but I need to remind myself that nothing is off limits they're just an occasional thing rather than an everyday item.

Goal #1 - Stop snacking.

Yes I think that sounds really do-able.

I’m slightly Hmm at the advert showing on this thread for Macdonalds! Maybe it’s only showing to me.

Haha at the McD's and - as long as it's a meal I guess it's fine 🤣

Mines showing the nice boots i've been eyeing up for DD at LaRedoute.

Me too please OP! Just realised that wheat really doesn't agree with me so am trying to cut it and chocolate out of my diet..... maybe that will help?!

I have about 3 stone to lose. My goal is to lose it by next September!

@BlueEyedFloozy Since you started this thread I had a chat with a friend who said she was giving up one bad thing a week. She started with cake, then biscuits, and plans to move onto crisps next week. I thought that was brilliantly simple and I have (yesterday!) given up cake and biscuits. Which is more than one thing but they are very similar to each other. I think I will move towards giving up bread too.

@RubySlippers77
I would also like to lose 3stone by September. Let’s do this!

@biggirlknickers how have you got on with giving up cake and biscuits?

I managed to give up bread for a few days, slipped and had a piece of toast one evening because I was peckish, and all my intolerance symptoms came racing back Sad it is so hard though, having small DC I often rely on having a sandwich/ panini for lunch when out and about, and not sure what I'll do if that's not an option - it's so handy to take with me and nibble on if I don't get to eat a whole lunch uninterrupted (very rare!)

How are you getting on @BlueEyedFloozy?

You were me a few weeks ago, OP. I needed to lose weight (three stone) but didn't want to diet because I always fail at them and binge eating has been a long-standing issue I just couldn't overcome. I was looking for books for inspiration (already read Brain Over Binge, etc, didn't quite do the trick but learned lots) and came across Allen Carr's new one that focuses solely on emotional eating. I know lots of people who swear by his give up smoking one so I gave it a read and it was like a lightbulb going off! I've since cut out all junk food, haven't binged once and, best of all, it's been SO easy. No cravings, no feeling like I've been missing out. I haven't weighed myself because our scales have currently broken Blush, but I know I've lost weight because my clothes are looser. Can highly recommend.

Is this thread still going? I'd like to join. Pregnant (only 6 weeks) so obvs can't starve myself but I'd really like to stay healthy and and not put on too much weight..
@BlueEyedFloozy - how's it going so far?

@CatintheFireplace I had such bad nausea from 6 weeks to about 12 and ate loads of crisps Blush I don't usually go for savoury things at all but for some reason the salt really helped! that and chocolate milkshakes

Thank you for the recommendation @Whiskers14, I've ordered that book from the library, hopefully will have it soon!
