Severely obese sibling

I want advice as to how (and if) I should raise something with my brother. He is 3 years younger than me and has had mental health issues for the best part of 15 years. He has over the last 5 years become morbidly obese. He has a severe over eating problem. He eats more than I have ever seen anyone eat. I am desperately worried about his health. I don’t even think he sees his doctor regularly. He is on anti depressants and anti anxiety meds so I thought the doctors would be monitoring him due to that but they can’t be. I am so worried about his long term health I think he is going to eat himself to death. No one in my family is prepared to raise it with him. He can be very angry, almost scary angry, he is irritable and grumpy and generally unpleasant at the best of times. WWYD?

There is nothing you can do.

He knows he is too big. Telling him will make him feel like shite and he will get angry and (probably) aggressive with you.

The doctors will likely have mentioned it but they can't make him stop eating. Neither can you. No one can fix this but him and it must be on his terms in his own time. It may never happen sadly.
