4 Stone to lose -Can i do it!!!

Hi im new on here...
would like a little motivation as i have a holiday comming up next year and i really need to lose 4/5 stone to get back to my pre baby body. My partner tries to be supportive but hurts when he says things like i dont want to have sex with you anymore coz of how big you are or you never stick to your diet so i’ll go find some hot skinny girl.... So thats really knocked my confidence but just wanted to know is it possible to lose 4/5 stone by next July with eating strict healthy diet & going to the gym 3 times per week...I just want to show him yes i can do it

God your partner is a dick firstly..

But if you want to loose weight for you not him then yes of course you can do it!!

You can definitely do it, I have done 3.5 stone in a year. (calorie counting and step counting mainly, but everyone has to find a way that works for them. I also had a massive link between emotions and food - upset or stressed? I ate something. If that's also you, your partner's hurtful remarks are totally not going to help.)

Also, if that's your partner trying to be supportive I'd hate to see what he said when he wasn't trying!

Yeh you have two issues.

You could absolutely lose 4 stone in a year, once you figure out how you've put on the weight and work to undo some of those habits. On top of that, eat healthy, move more, and stick with it. Even if you only lost half of what you want, who cares! You'll feel so much better.

The other issue is your partner who is a cruel person. I don't understand how someone can say they love someone and says things like that. He is awful. Do you really want to be with him? I'd be telling him to go and fuck whoever he wants because he's single now, goodbye!

Regardless, whatever you decide, do it for you, not for him.

Lots of people are losing that amount of weight in a year on the MN Low carb bootcamp thread. It's very enciuraging reading their updates and tips. Check it out OP. More info on the Diet Doctor website. This way of eating is really quite enjoyable. But as others said, you probably need to think about your habits and work out what would best suit you.
My advice would be breaking it down into smaller goals - 4lbs off by end of June / 3" off waist by August... etc Write them down and tick them off as you go.

Easy way to ditch a lot of useless weight fast...get rid of your partner!!! He sounds absolutely disgusting.

Hey,

You bloody well can do it! It doesn't sound like your other half is very supportive! I think having that support is so important and makes all the difference. Have you considered joining slimming world or weight watchers? I joined slimming world mid January and have lost almost 2 and a half stone since joining. I started off with 4 1/2 stone to lose. So had a similar amount of weight as you to lose. I think having group support makes all the difference. You have to want it enough and it sounds like you have good motivation to do it. I made up my mind to go one day and just went whilst I was in that mind frame. After loosing just some of the weight I feel so much healthier and more confident. Prove your partner wrong! Don't tell him you're doing it, just go and do what you need to do and prove him wrong!

Awwwww wow thank you everyone just reading all of your lovely comments and cant believe how supportive you are...
Yea my mum keeps saying get rid of him (partner) hes no good for you all he ever does is bring you down..
But !!!! 1 week in and iv’e lost 3lbs ,which i did think is that all but it takes time and i no i’ll get there..

3 pounds in one week is amazing! Remember a loss of 1-2 pounds a week is a healthy amount to lose, so anything over that is a bonus.
