So just sat with DP booking a last minute holiday to Mexico, drinking a McDonald's milkshake to try and cure my hangover and now I realise I have 26 days until we leave ConfusedBlush I have consumed about 3000 calories today, gained a stone in the year I've been dating DP and gained a stone the year before that. I've got four weeks essentially to drop as much weight as possible so I'm going to be journaling it here in the hope it keeps me on the straight and narrow. Aiming to lose a stone, feel free to join me, shitter tea optional Grin

I will join you, as I am sat here eating a Mcdonalds Raspberry Flake McFlurry. I seriously need to lose weight. I lost 10kg last year and this year I have put that back on and more. My double chin is putting me so down so much I hate applying makeup (I know the Ice Cream ain't helping)
Good Luck to you.

Ooo I'm jealous of the mcflurry I nearly went for one of those! Good luck to you too, you've done it once I'm sure you can get there again.

I have been using the My Fitness Pal app to try to lose weight - I need to lose so, so much.

I have found it really easy to use - it has so many foods in its database, including brands and supermarket own brand foods, and fast foods, and gives you a calorie limit for the day - so if you want a Big Mac one day, you can have it, as long as you adjust the rest of the day to stay under the limit.

I even managed to keep track of my calories whilst we were away, with a bit of guess work.

You also get to put in the exercise/activities you do, and see how many extra calories that gives you - everything from cycling or skiing to housework or walking has a value per minute.

Different things work for different people - but I have found this is flexible and keeps me in control.

Thanks for the advice, I have tried mfp before but I'm just rubbish at logging it unfortunately. I've just got a Fitbit so I'll crack that out tomorrow hopefully if I do more than sit at a desk all day that will be a start...

Yes! I'm starting tomorrow. Need to lose 1 stone and a bit for a (just) healthy BMI, 2 stone to look ok, 3 to be my perfect weight. Been putting it off and just been eating whatever the fuck I like for the past few shitty months. Went out with the girls over the weekend and the pictures have shocked me into facing up to it. Going to do MFP too, and 16/8.

This thread has got me motivated. I do have a FitBit also but have only been using it to track my sleep Grin Now I will make sure I use it to log my steps.

Hooray reinforcements Grin so glad to have you with me. Sat at my desk, coffee water and Fitbit to hand. Thinking thin thoughts and have the intention to exercise later which is basically the same as actually moving isn't it?

Don't forget the alcohol you had that night would be far worse than the milk shake!

Something I've found that helps, with MFP, is that I sit down at the computer each morning, and put in the meals for the day ahead of time - I meal plan, so I know what's for supper each night, and once I have logged that, I know how many calories there are to spare for lunch, so I plan that, once I know.

Then all I have to do later in the day is add in things like snacks, and put in any changes that happen - but the main part of it is done.
