Losing inches not pounds

So I started my weight loss journey at 18 stone 13 and am now 16 stone 8...
I've been doing weight watchers for 8 weeks and it's really working for me. I'm sticking to the points etc but I'm also doing 1 hour of the 30 day shred high intensity DVD a day, I'm literally dripping in sweat after it and I feel fabulous for doing it.

I've lost 10 inches from my waist in the last 2 weeks, but only lost a pound on the scales. It's not like I'm anywhere near my goal of 10 stone.. what can I do to get the scales to move??

Honestly who cares if you've lost 10 inches?!

If I lost 10 inches I would cartwheel around the room - well done you, doing really well, keep at it!

Muscle is more lean that fat of the same volume, so although you're not seeing it on the scale you're body is converting that wobble into lovely lean, toned muscle - which in the long run burns more calories when sedentary. Sounds like you're doing amazing! Keep it up 👏 👏

I'm going to have a look at the dvd myself, I take it you'd recommend it with those results?

@MissBax absolutely! I've not missed a day since the 15th of July, and I have been doing weight watchers but it's the exercise that's been helping most! Its a hard DVD but it's also only 20 minutes so it's over quick xx

I've just ordered it :) due to have DD in 3 weeks so will need to wait till I'm fully recovered to give it a go but I was hoping to find something I can do at home and 20 mins is perfect! So with you saying you do an hour a day, do you do the 20 min work 3 times?

So it's in 3 stages, and I first struggled with stage 1, but then got better at it and now I'm on stage 2 (you move up after 10 days) however I'm not fit enough for stage 3 and stage 2 isn't quite hitting me as hard as it was so I do stage 2, and then stage 1. You're not really meant to but I can't manage stage 3 yet!!

Oh, I get this.

It makes me stop trying and think "clearly, this is ineffective, may as well stay fat".

You are inspiring

@PhDPepper - congrats on your weight loss and in such a short time frame. You should be very proud of yourself :)
Weight isn't always a true or good indication of how you're doing. What has most likely happened the past two weeks is that you gained X lbs in muscle (which is smaller and denser than fat) and lost X lbs of fat. So even thought the scale doesn't show a change, those measurements don't lie! Don't get discouraged you're doing so well 👏👏😌👍
