3 years ago I was a size 10. Now my size 16 clothes are feeling snug. My joints hurt and I get out of breath far too easily. I'm only 5ft 0 so feel enormous. (This isn't a dig at anyone else sized 16 or above, it's how I view myself) I eat when I'm stressed, bored, upset, all the time really, I'm always thinking about food. And it's always junk food I crave. I sometimes eat to the point of vomiting but STILL can't stop.

I have to stop this before it gets worse, I really don't want to buy size 18 clothes. I need support and a kick up the arse in equal measure.

I hear you - it sounds like you need a plan. Any diet will work if you stick to it. I'm trying 5:2 at the moment which means I can still eat a bit of junk if I feel like it. I'm only 5'2" so even losing a small amount of weight makes me feel better and healthier.
Good luck!

Alright, so do it then, pick your diet, I prefer low carb. Get off your arse and do some exercise. The only person who can make you lose weight is you. Either buy the size eighteens and keep eating crap, or cut it out and start dropping dress sizes,,,your call.

And If you chose to lose it, you'll feel great,,you will be able to wear what you want, you feel good about yourself again, oh and you can do it. If you start now, you'll be pretty much there by the summer...

Lots of people don't rate it but I lost loads on Cambridge Weight Plan. I know many others who have too. Even if you just do it for say a month, you'll shift a shocking amount of weight.

I found doing it re-trains my brain and tummy to only eat food I need and not binge or graze unnecessarily. I did it after having DC1 and lost 2.5 stone in 8 weeks. Then got pregnant again with DC2 and regained some, which I lost again last year, and have kept off.

I now go to weight training with a PT group 4 times week and kind of eat what I want within reason, and my weight has stayed the same.

Many people don't rate CWP for various reasons but I really do. I do think you need to have a plan once you've hit goal though i.e. PT or SW or WW to shift the last bit of weight and help you to adopt an overall healthier lifestyle.

Good luck whatever you decide!

Thank you all! I thought nobody was ever going to reply. I joined Slimming World on Tuesday, and am going to start swimming next week.

After my weigh in I've realised I've got to lose 4 1/2 stone to get to the higher limit of a healthy BMI. Slowly and steadily I guess 🙄

Yup- it's best if you use a calorie calculator like the free myfitnesspal app to see where you should be headed.
Starting is the hard bit, I think.

I'd like to join please? I have done 2 weeks, then on and off last week, and here i go tomorrow...I'd say i have 6 stone at this stage to loose. I did high protein before and lost 4 and half stone...i kept it off for a few years and would go up and down, but only small amounts, way out of control and I absolutely have enough of it. My back is killing me, I am out of breath and my knees are buckled, not to mention the sheer embarrassment, but I have kind of gone beyond that now, as I don't seem to care, which cannot be good...I would love to join, as I think we all need support and help doing a diet or as I like to call it a healthy eating plan....

I am on Cambridge. I have lost 3 stone 4lbs since beginning Dec (I had a few days off for Christmas and just had two weeks "off" where I alternated days on packs and eating normally for a work conference and a few birthdays). I expect to go to my weigh in this week having stayed the same or gained a bit and have 2 stone 8lbs to lose until I am a healthy BMI. Would like to lose another 10 lbs on top of this. Expect that to take me too about July. I can second that it works!

All welcome Doll I keep wondering how the hell I let this happen but here I am. I want to be slim enough to wear skirts in the summer and not end up with chafing thighs all the time.

Soooo, not wishing to brag but I had my first SW weigh in yesterday and I lost 7lb!!!! Really pleased but I realise it won't be this much every week. I've also been swimming twice this week
