Am I the only person who feels like this ? I lost 30lbs 5 years ago with lighter life managed brilliantly for 3 years then for the last 2 years I've struggled to keep my weight at 10st I'm 5ft 7 and feal great at that weight. In the last 6 months I've joined body coach, didn't even get as far as planning it out, joined slimming world first week gave up, got packs from lighter life lost few lbs but sat eating Easter egg now, thought about doing juice fast and did it, downloaded app for gastric band, I get all this rubbish going round in my head I just want to commit to one thing and do it, not keep changing and it's really getting me down now feal a failure and feal so stupid. Did anyone break this cycle of panicking and jumping to next thing I feal really overwhelmed ?

It's what the world has come to! All money spinners too.

Do your own research, make your own lifestyle. You really don't need rules or regulations, points or measurements. You just need to eat mindfully, knowing what is good for you. Eat whole, natural foods when you are hungry. Eat treats when they are treats (like today!).

I felt the same until I found a local personal trainer who directed me to "clean eating" or whatever term you want to call it (natural, whole foods with limited processed foods). A world of information on the internet out there about it. Once you stop eating the crap, you stop craving it so that kind of helped me to see that I needed to fight to scrub my insides and then it was plain sailing and exercise has now taken a step up because I feel so good!

Did you really feal like me that incessant stuff in your head I worry though when I just eat normally I don't lose I don't gain I exercise with personal trainer and run a bit but then I lose motivation and it all seems to stop. It's like I need to have no distraction impossible in life I know - feal very lost with it all and wish I had never started dieting at 16 because 33 years later I must have lost and gained 20lbs a million times

You are not the only one, I assure you! The damn diet industry makes slim youngsters believe they are fat, when in fact a normal amount of womanly body fat is healthy and essential to reproduction. Early dieting causes long term damage and this ingrained fear of food becomes the norm, causing the dreaded yo-yo effect and panic dieting forever more.

It is all in the mind. You/everyone needs to calm down. Take a deep breath. Erase it all, get rid of the junk rattling around and start back at basics. Stop googling.

It is great that you have a PT. See if they will check your food diary when you see them, it will help keep you accountable. Don't weigh, only measure yourself. Ask for heavy weight/low rep weight and resistance training (it melts the fat). It takes grit and determination to crack through your previous barrier and not rebound again.

Yes I can see that it takes determination I feal all out of it right now thanks runners appreciate the replies. I'm worried about my son and giving him bad messages with food I'm either using food packs or cooking separate food I don't seem to have a normal setting. Do I just google clean eating ? Like salad veggies organic meat fish fruit Greek yogurt ? Marks daily Apple ? X thank you

Mark's Daily Apple is a good one! Along with Rebelfit (facebook and website), plus loads more. My whole family's meals are based around

All fish
All meat
All fruit, veg, salad
Beans, lentils, brown rice (not in sauce)
Nuts
Greek yog
Smoothies, soups, stews in slow cooker, caseroles

Quite simple, but really tasty food. No need for complicated recipes. Nothing wrong with single ingredient foods on the plate for a meal. So easy to give the children kiwi, grapes and blueberries etc for snacks and after school. I shop at Lidl etc!!!

Loosely meal planning but not if it is going to overwhelm you. Ie, right now I have no idea what is for lunch tomorrow but I know at some point next week we are having baked salmon and another day prawn cocktail, another day tuna salad...just staples using cupboard/fridge essentials.

I base all my days on

Breakfast
Snack
Lunch
Snack
Dinner
STOP.

It stops the grazing!! I eat a lot of eggs, very filling. Lots of spinach too, and heavier greens like broccoli and cauliflower. Just load up on the good stuff, you'll be fine! Chill. Take it easy. You can do this!

Rebelfit has a lot of free information, even a free sample pack on their website, keep an eye on the facebook page as they do giveaways and recipe books. The sample pack is good. He deals with the mindset of eating well and getting over binges.
