How to low-carb as a pescatarian? Plus need ideas for LC breakfasts

After much research into different weight-loss methods I've decided to try low-carbing as I have A LOT of weight to shift, and would like fast initial results to help motivate me. Thing is, I don't eat meat. I do eat fish, but at the moment, that's only about once a week. I'm not that fussed about meat-substitutes like Quorn, but can eat them.
Has anyone been successful with low carbing as a veggie/pescatarian? If so, can you give me some meal suggestions? I'm particularly flummoxed about breakfast as don't want to be eating eggs EVERY morning, especially whilst avoiding bread!
Have been looking at Deliciously Ella for vegan meal suggestions etc, but she uses a lot of oats and fruits, which seem to be a non-starter for LC.
Any ideas for snacks would be helpful too - I don't do celery sticks Wink

I'm not veggie but I do love halloumi and avocado for breakfast.

DH low carbs and eats Greek yoghurt for breakfast.

I don't massively eat breakfast, maybe once or twice a month, but I have been known to just eat leftovers first thing.

I will be trying the intermittent fasting thing once I'm in the swing of things but don't want to make too much of a change at the start. If I can cut down on sugar and snacking I'll hopefully notice an improvement!

I've been a pescitarian for 18 years and started eating LCHF two years ago. I don't each breakfast as such but boiled eggs are always my first meal, and at the weekend I have them with kippers in butter or salmon. I have fish for dinner the vast majority of nights: tuna steak, salmon, Ray wing (really cheap from fish counter) and at times cod slow baked in a casserole dish with veg and topped with egg. Lunch is tuna every day (I can't get enough of it!) and has bee for years. Success wise, I'm not sure whether you mean health or weight. I'm rarely ill and have clear skin. People think I'm up to 7 years younger than I am. I'm strong and can bench 18kg Dumbbells. Weight wise, I'm size 8-10 ( varies between dependent on holidays etc). My weight has been stable for years. Finally, the best thing about LCHF imo is the complete lack of cravings/hunger. After my fish and eggs on a Saturday morning I'm set for the day.

Other suggestions, egg muffins. Google them and you'll see a whole range of recipes. My fave are egg, a bit of feta and chives in a muffin tray baked for 30 mins ( you'll see when they're done). Delicious hot with salad or I'll often make loads on a Sunday and eat them throughout the week.

Hi. I've been veggie for three and a half years now and have recently switched to being a pescatarian in the past few weeks after starting low-carbing in January 2016. I've lost one and a half stone already.

After nearly two months of low-carbing I no longer have cravings and I rarely feel hungry.

One thing I've found is that I'm rarely hungry in the morning and I've read that with low-carbing you can choose to eat only when you're hungry. As I feel hungry less often now, and have zero cravings, I'm often having just two meals a day; a brunch and dinner.

So I'd suggest do away with any preconceived ideas of what breakfast is or should be and start from scratch. So basically have anything you fancy to 'break your fast' that's allowed within the low-carb lifestyle. And break your fast at whatever time you want. It doesn't even have to be in the morning.

Sometimes I'll have Skylar yogurt with various berries, a dollop of almond butter, a dollop of single cream (can't find full-fat yogurt anywhere - Skylar is high protein and low-carb but zero fat) chia seeds and other milled seeds for breakfast. Other times I'll do a stir-fry with tofu or Quorn products and sometimes add an egg or two if that's how I feel. I've done almond flour pancakes with blueberries - amazing - and I'll often just have leftovers if there're any. And if I'm not feeling hungry I'll pop what I've made into a plastic container, take it to work, then eat it when the hunger pangs kick in. Which at the moment is about half eleven.

Hope that helps.

Bill do you not have a supermarket near you. They usually stock full fat Greek yogurt. I have granola for breakfast sometimes, ground nuts, seeds, coconut, almond flour and berries. Sometimes I lightly fry it. I have this with coconut milk

Hi Millliii. Most of the full fat yogurts I look at have as much, if not more, carbs as fat. Which brand do you buy? It's Skyr yogurt I get.
