Weight loss many times in my life, even 6-7 stones...but each time I've put it back on.
Now I've had a small windfall I could afford it.
It's going to cost 10K I change my life
I just can't bear the thought of being this size and what it's doing to my joints/ health.
Fed up of being a fatty

Personally I wouldn't as you can have proved you can lose weight.

It's major surgery. Always risky and you just don't know how this stuff interferes with your body.

Our bodies are the perfect mechanisms and you can't improve on how they operate.

Get yourself to SW or whatever worked in the past and this time stick with it. A sleeve will not address why you overheat, eat the more fattening foods etc. you might try ways to out wit the sleeve. Lots of fatty sugary yogurt, ice cream etc

Save your money for your new clothes when you get to target.

Of course a gastric sleeve doesn't address why you overeat, but then again, neither does SW or whatever "worked" in the past, or the OP wouldn't have regained the weight. It's completely unhelpful to say "this time stick with it".

OP, only you can make the decision that's right for you, and you shouldn't be judged for it, but you should take advice from your GP and an NHS dietitian, and give this thorough and careful consideration before you take the plunge. Don't rely on advice from the surgeon who would be making money out of your operation! Gastric bands arent a guarantee of success - you'll have to permanently change your eating habits as well. if you're eating for reasons other than genuine hunger, the operation isn't going to help with that at all. Make sure you understand every aspect of your overconsumption: physical, medical, and psychological, and then treat as appropriate.
