Hi Mrsteddyruxpin I also lost a lot of weight using the old points system, I think about ten years ago. I still have the book and try and keep to the points system as I find it easier than calorie counting. If I need to lose weight I keep to about 18 a day and then even being generous I don't go over 2000 calories. If I'm not sure I call 100 calories 1 point. Also I now count all fruit and vegetables as the original plan didn't always but am more generous with counting so a bowl of salad is 1/2 whereas one boiled potato would also be 1/2. I don't buy the WW food anymore as it is full of preservatives and very expensive but I look out for own brand similar products if I really want them. The meetings are great as you have mutual support and a target to aim for but obviously are expensive and time-consuming, I would now prefer to go to an exercise class instead. The advice they give I think is great (writing down points, exercising for more points, don't keep food in the car etc) I think now there is more free advice online I would try this first. Hope this helps!

I've got an operation in 10 weeks that will put me on crutches. The last time I was on crutches it was annoying and painful on my hands etc. I weighed 2 stone less than I do now, so I am determined to lose as many lbs as I can sensibly between now and then.

I have had success with WW old points in the past - got to goal. So I am planning to try and follow that again....20 points I think I had at the time. I'm browsing ebay to try and find a few books as I binned mine. :(
