Dark choc

I'm on a diet and am trying to cut down on sugar. I'm allowing myself dark choc as a little treat. How much do you reckon is too much (guilty face)...?

How much cocoa solids does it have? I would suggest minimum 70% as it has less sugar in than a lot of dark chocolate. Maybe somewhere between 10 and 20 g a day would be good? 10g is about 50 calories and 20g 100 calories. I have 10g twice a day.
I don't want to be prescriptive as it depends how much exercise you are doing. Anything over 20g would be definitely too much for me!

Look at the sugar content. Dark choc may be better for you (less fat, for instance), but it still has loads of sugar. I would say one line (usually two large or four small squares), is about right. Chocolate is chocolate, in the end, so even though it's dark you still have to see it as a treat and not eat too much of it (easier said than done, I know ....)

If you want to know sugar content, plain 70% chocolate 10g has just over half a teaspoon 2.8g.

2 squares of a Tesco/Aldi dark chocolate bar (30p) is about 40 calories. My late-night treat.

Thank you all! Two squares sounds a sensible amount. Now I just have to be a bit more sensible myself now!
