Anyone completed the DUKAN DIET or on CONSOLIDATION phase??

Hi all!

So has anyone actually completed this diet? I am towards the end of the cruise phase and am only 1lb away from TW!! Im actually feeling scared to move onto the next phase with the worry that I will just regain some weight again! Strange, because I couldn't wait until the cruise phase was finished and now I want to stay on the cruise phase for a bit longer! :(

I just wanted to know how others are finding the 3rd stage of the diet? Have you regained any weight? I have heard that some still continue to lose in the third stage.

The reason why I am so worried is because I have cheated few times in the cruise phase. Two weeks ago I completely fell of the wagon and had a whole week where I cheated. So I'm just worried that the cheating will affect the effectiveness of the third stage!

Did any of you cheat in the cruise phase? If so, did that hinder the consolidation phase??

Would love to hear from other fellow dukaners! :)

Hope you don't mind me gate crashing - I haven't done Dukan but am considering starting on monday.

I'd logged on to canvas views on Dukan vs atkins - would you mind telling me about your Dukan experience and how much you've lost??

Congratulations on being so near your target, you must feel great!!

I did dukan and ended up losing more on consolidation, however I didn't follow consolidation properly as firstly I did about a month doing PV without adding anything else and even when I did add stuff I didn't want to add bread back in, so I did eat more carbs but generally pulses or brown rice rather than the bread he advocates.

I ended up 10lbs below my target weight and a year on I have been able to keep it off. I do work out 3 times a week and I basically now stick to PV during the week and eat more at weekends. I don't generally do PP on a thursday unless I have had a bad week eating wise!

If you continue to weight yourself daily and stick to the rules you won't gain, and if you do gain have a PV week to get back on track.

I couldn't do atkins as I love dairy and because ketosis diets make me constipated. Personal choice though.

Hi I am currently on week 7 of 10 week consolidation. I lost 16lb in all - reached target weight after 3 day attack and then 25 days on cruise. I was a bit wary at first on consolidation and have not really had celebration meals as such. If I have had a pasta dish (home made spag bol with wholewheat pasta) followed by a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream and a glass of wine - I wouldn't then have another celebration meal or pasta dish that week, just do PV (except Thursday). My weight has stayed around the target weight all through consolidation, if anything going under by another kilo.

My partner is also doing Dukan and he is still in cruise. We don't live together, but we do cook and eat together a few times a week so I guess I am still doing a lot of PV days. I am enjoying my food, although I eat a lot less fruit than before the diet. I do protein only on Thursdays. I feel I have broken bad habits such as crisps and have also learned to control portion size. Very happy with the diet and the results so far.

Thank you all for your responses. It makes me feel soo much better hearing your successes on the cons phase.

I have been soo bad, I was only a lb away from TW and I bunged soooo badly for a few days in total crap such as KFC burger, fish and Chios, pizza and chocolate sundaes! Just don't know why happened to me and as a result gained 3lbs. I was so happy that I lost those few pounds in a matter if days (must have been water).

Anyhow, so I have been cruising for a week since having that binge and about 4 days since on TW.

I don't feel comfortable to move onto cons because of the binge and am worried that if and when I reintroduce carbs I will just start gaining weight again.

So what do I do? Shall I
A) start cons by adding all the extras
B) start slowly by doung another week of pv, then add one item a week to my diet. Start by the fruit, then bread, then cheese, and then finally celebration meal!

Foreveronadiet, did you cheat during the cruise phase??

Hi - I am on day one of attack - your stories are encouraging! Can I ask how much you had to lose? Did you find it hard? Any tips for a beginner like me?

Sorry for hijack btw - hope to be on here in a few months worrying about my consolidation phase too! :)

I agree with foreverondiet. If you now weigh yourself regularly and stick to the rules, you should not gain weight. However, supposing you have gained weight due to the cheat week, you can most certainly repeat a PV week and see if that helps. In my honest opinion, you have put in a lot of efforts to come up to this point; therefore I strongly suggest that you check with your Dukan Diet (www.dukandiet.com/) coach and ask for advice since this weight management program needs accountability. It is flexible and easy to follow but expert guidance at every step is very important.
