I am giving myself a year to do this (although the faster the better). What is the best diet to do? I struggle with the low carb thing as I am often rushing around and it seems to much fussing to me. I have time to exercise but not sure what to do (am incredibly unfit so need to start slowly I think).
I have recently started to try and become more active and hopefully will lose weight. I've stopped snacking so much and cut down on sugary and fatty foodstuffs and I'm trying to just eat sensibly rather than diet iyswim. I'm very lucky that the little village I live in has several exercise classes available so I've been to 3 zumba classes a week, a gym class at the outdoor gym and have been trying to walk a lot more (school runs etc) My friend swears by walking as it's free and can be down anywhere and fit around your lifestyle.
Ooh I am planning to go to a Zumba class this week! Is it good?
I can do the walk to and from school on Fridays only due to work but that should help a bit. Also going to try to start running again as I worked my way up to 10k a couple of years ago but then stopped
I lost 4.5 stones by attending a Weightwatchers class weekly and following the diet (am now a gold member and attend once per month to make sure I maintain). I could not have lost the weight without the 'discipline' and motivation of the weekly class, and ime few people are successful online. So my tip would be to commit to attending a weekly slimming class - weightwatchers preferably
I lost 5 stone after dc2 with slimming world (after struggling a long time to lose weight on my own after dc1) and have joined again and lost 1stone so far after dc3 although still have 2 1/2 stone to lose to get to pre dc3 weight of 9 1/2 stone. It's great for me as you eat tonnes of food (literally) and very little weighing required. I do go to class every week and stay for the talk as I need that for motivation also. Good luck with whatever you choose but I would wholeheartedly recommend Slimming World!
