Urgh, need to shift a couple of stone - recommended diet plans anyone?

Hello,

I finally braved the scales today and found out I'm a sturdy 10 stone 10lbs. And I'm only 5ft3.

Now, I have a history of anorexia so have found the weight gain part of pregnancy really hard. I want to shift a couple of stones, but sensibly this time round.

My baby is almost 8 weeks old, so we haven't got much time for cooking fancy things, so jacket potatoes and soup are featuring quite heavily in our diet.

Does anyone have any recommended diet plans that have worked for them?

Muchas gracias

myfitnesspal.com will give you a sensible calorie limit for your height and weight, and will calculate your calories for you. Also, join a weightloss thread on here... It's a brilliant way of getting companionship and support.

Good luck!

Thanks :-)

What I'm really looking for, is a meal plan, so that takes the hassle out of thinking what to eat all the time. But that site looks useful too.

I second myfitnesspal - but you will need to find an eating plan too.

What you could do is register on the site, then post on the message board to say you're new, and ask people to recommend an eating plan.

Lots of the people there are American, so you'll probably get US versions - you may need to invest in some measuring cups!

It's cheaper (free!) and easier than something like WW and if you build up a list of "friends" (like Facebook), they'll help motivate you. My username is busybusybee on there. I'm 5ft 3ins too!

Good luck!

You might find tescodiets works for you - they give menus and recipes. Plus weekly weigh in and support. There are loads of different meal plan options eg vegetarian, GI, mediterian, low carb etc. Plus cheaper than weightwatchers.

Some of the diet books I have have include meal plans - as do slimming world magazines.

Thanks everyone. Have had a busy couple of days with the little tyke, but your comments are appreciated. Will check out your suggestions. Was considering slimming world, but it's £60 for 3 months for the most basic membership Shock
