Before deciding on the one? The fiancé is saying 2 isn’t enough 👀

5 - but that was all of them in the area we wanted to marry. For us it was a bit like buying a house - we knew when we'd found "the one" because we just couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else

One. It's the place where he proposed to me so it made perfect sense. A lovely intimate country hotel in a picturesque village. We both have small families and we are fairly modest with what we want on the day. We've got around 55 guests at most and no extras on the evening. I would highly recommend signing up to hitched.com, they have a HUGE selection of venues all around the UK on there!

I had a list of ten that I narrowed down to 4. Viewed the first one and loved it, viewed another one but knew I probably wanted the first one. Didn't view any more, I think my OH would have kept viewing places. I think it's like dresses, once you know, you know.

One. I just wanted to be married and all the other venues were much to expensive.

One. We did it all in nine weeks, and the beauty of a shotgun wedding is limited choice leads to easier decisions 😍

I didn't have to view any. I used to live there so it was a foregone conclusion really.

We had one in mind that we thought would be perfect, viewed it and it just wasn't right at all.

We now have 4 more booked in. One or 2 I'm not that sure of but they're all close together and we're viewing them all on one day so it seems worth doing.

One. Didn’t like it and decided on a registry office instead.

3.
The first one was lovely, second was way out of our price range. Knew as soon as we saw the third that this was the perfect venue for us.

Is it maybe that your fiancé isn’t keen on the venue you like and is hoping you’ll like a different one with more viewings?

He isn’t particularly arsed about it, yet being a picky twat 🤦🏼‍♀️

Has he come up with any suggestions of his own? What does he want from the venue?

4 I think!

Actually looked at two and then decided on his parents garden in the end. None of the commercially licenced venues felt right.

We saw five. The one we picked was the second one but we just wanted to be sure. You’ll know when you walk in that it’s the right place. Good luck Op, enjoy wedding planning! It’s lots of fun.

I saw two, then left it to my mum. I was having a really busy time at work and mum organised the whole thing for me. The first time I saw the reception venue was on the day.

  1. There’s no point viewing loads, when you’ve found one that you love, go for it.

Classic man. No opinion other than 'not that'!

Two, specifically (had seen some others in the area already from attending other weddings!) Friends also seem to have looked at 2 or 3 from what I remember.

We viewed about 7. All dated and ugly until the last one, the one we chose. Smile

None!
DH booked a slot at the local registrar office, drove me down there with two witnesses, job done and back to work the next day.
Neither of us wanted to marry (me feminist, he hippy), but we needed the tax rebate. We hid the certificate in a drawer and pretended it never happened. Grin

Oh he sounds just like my DH2b. Not interested, not bothered apparently I just needed to sort it out and don't think he's going to any of these wedding fair things! Haha
I made a list of 4 venues I wanted to look at and insisted he came along which he begrudgingly did. The first venue was fine... second nice but way overpriced. The third was nice but just not what we were looking for.... hadn't booked to look at the 4th but spotted a place close to one of the other venues as we passed by. Had a look, booked a viewing, had a look around and talked to the co-ordinator about their packages. DH2b was like yes this is the one, I don't want to get married anywhere else. How do we put the deposit down GrinGrin

Luckily for me I had also fallen in love with it! As a PP said you get this funny feeling and you just know! DH2b is now very involved in things and hasn't stopped talking about how amazing it's going to be! I need a second job now though to pay for it all!

We saw 4 but i had whittled the list down and discounted all the ones that were too expensive. DH only came to 3 which were in budget and we chose from those.

  1. Had a few more to see on the list but we booked no 2 the next day
