Has anyone bought their dress from JJ's House?

I don't want to spend £££ on a wedding dress, but equally I'm a bit unsure about buying one online and the quality being poor. Has anyone bought their dress from JJ's House? They look really pretty on the website, but I don't want to waste money unnecessarily...

I bought one online (not jjs house) and whilst the material was fine the fit was terrible and I spent more having it fitted than it cost in the first place. I wish I’d gone high street (Debenhams have quite a big range).

I almost went for a JJHOUSE one as even though it's made in China in a sweatshop the reviews are great and look legit (ish) and the price is low.
But I chickened out when a Joanna Hope dress I loved on Simply Be (£160) went half price on anether clearance website and it just seems LOADS safer? Let us know if you do?!

We got a bridesmaid dress that came much too small; we had sent the right measurements so I’m not sure how it happened

We bought dress from JJs House for prom (ordered in April, arrived within 2 weeks). I think the quality is very high but I'm not much of a connoseur (sp?). Ours came a bit large, perhaps, DD wanted it altered, but she always seems to wear 1x bust+waist size smaller than she measures in everything.

Thank you everyone. Fit is definitely something to consider. Perhaps I will be better off checking the high street first. I'm short (5ft) and want "tea length", so I could end up spending loads getting a dress shortened etc.

I don't think I could bring myself to spend £600+ on a dress, as I want a new kitchen Grin I'll have to look around. I'm not getting married until the Autumn, so I've got time Smile

Have you checked ebay? For pre-loved ones? And H&M just brought out a bridal collection....

My nan ordered a shawl from jjs house for my aunts wedding. The pictures were beautiful and the reviews excellent. She paid £65 it came and was a tiny shitty bit of material and they wouldn't accept a return.

Maybe some of the 50s style retailers? I’ve ordered from Vivien of Holloway online shop before and they’re great. They also have a store in London. It’s tea length but I don’t know if it’s the look you’re going for

We've got two flower girl dresses. They were fine for the photos, they look lovely. But there wasn't a huge amount of stitching so they came apart a bit - my 3yo kept hers on all day and we ended up tucking all the netting into the waistband because strips kept coming loose and tripping her up.

It would depend on the design of the dress but I don't think they could stand up to much activity. Like I said tho, in the photos you'd have no idea.

Not sure where you are based but I was going to buy a tea length dress from here digforvictoryclothing.com/category/46864-wedding-dresses.aspx before someone talked me out of tea length. I massively regret that decision... but I've heard amazing things about this shop.

@FrankIncensed I'm in Lancs, but those dresses look beautiful Smile I'll definitely put them on my list, as it looks like you can pay an extra £35 to give them your exact measurements.

I wonder if there is a similar company around Manchester or Liverpool? I'll have a look online Smile

I got mine from JJshouse. It is lovely, fabric is really good quality, and it's well made.
I'm having alterations done as I wanted the train slightly different, and am losing weight, but I'm really happy with it.
I also got my three bridesmaids dresses from there (custom made) and they're almost perfect. Need very slight alterations to fit perfectly.
My only complaint is that I have really long arms, so submitted an extra measurement, and the sleeves were still 2cm too short...

Pictures - pre and post alteration of the train.
Sorry for horrible pictures - trying to crop anything identifying out.

Oh also I'm having a sash added - the second pic shows it roughly tacked on

I got three flower girl dresses from them. They fit like a dream and were lovely, very pretty and well made for the money. I wasn't expecting great things tbh so I was really impressed.

I purchased a dress and gave them my exact measurements. It was made incorrectly and defective. The stitching where the slit over the leg is supposed to be has multiple stitches in different places between the top and bottom fabric which causes it to bunch up and hang horribly. Each measurement was made approximately 2" larger than I ordered in each measurement. I can slip it on without unzipping it! The dress I received is NOTHING like the one I ordered and spent $200 on. I contacted them immediately and explained that it was made wrong and is defective. This was supposed too be my dress for my daughter's wedding. I sent photos proving their mistake and the defects in the dress and they refuse to refund me. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I now have no dress to wear to my daughter's wedding. I am still trying to get my money back. Buyers beware! Do business with a company that is not scamming you. THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT. BE SURE TO SHARE THIS WITH YOUR LOVED ONES SO THEY DO NOT GET SCAMMED AND HAVE THEIR MONEY STOLEN FROM THEM.

FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS A SCAM.
