Poem/reading for 6 year old

My nephew wants to be involved in our day and do a poem/reading at our wedding. He’s a confident reader for his age but generally the ones I’ve found online are quite long. Has anyone got any suggestions?

How about veltveteen rabbit? Or footsteps in the sand?
Heard those a lot and don't think they're tricky.
The key will probably be to practise it lots.

Hi @Hsmumma my 5 year old niece read this at my wedding a couple of weeks ago. It was very sweet. It's C S Lewis.

Now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.

Is there anything in particular you're looking for? Religious or not? Generally about love I guess... but about romance or being familiar or best friends etc?

Could he do the owl and the pussy cat? It is quite long, but pretty simple...

It’s a church service, hoping for something not too long as I think he will be nervous on the day.

Wedding Prayer - Poem by Robert Louis Stevenson

Lord, behold our family here assembled.
We thank you for this place in which we dwell,
for the love that unites us,
for the peace accorded us this day,
for the hope with which we expect the morrow,
for the health, the work, the food,
and the bright skies that make our lives delightful;
for our friends in all parts of the earth.
Amen
