I'm reading online and getting conflicting info...do you need to show passports?

I sent ours in last week and had to put in original birth certificates. I put photocopies of our passports, driver licenses and bills/bank statements for proof of address and it was all fine and is sorted now

I didn't have a passport at the time and used my driving licence, birth certificate and a council tax bill. I also had to show my parents' marriage certificate to prove UK citizenship but that was to do with my age - I think the cut off point was 1983 off the top of my head - and might not have been needed if I'd had a passport. Anyway I rang the registrar and they were happy to talk me though it so I recommend doing that if you can!

Thanks folks...got it sorted. Passport not required if born before 1983.

I just put a copy in and we were born before ‘83. It’s just to prove we didn’t need visas etc.
