From rather cold to rather windy - keeping an eye on the weather.

As we transition to much more unsettled and rather milder weather, I've got an eye out for the weather next weekend which looks potentially rather stormy.
As always, early days, amateur forecaster etc etc, but something just to be aware of.
Will update as needed.

SE

We had a massive flash of lightning and loud clap of thunder a short while ago. Top temp has been 10.8 at lunch-time and is now 5.7 Confused

Just seen a report on the front page of Daily Fail ( I know, I know ) that February is going to be freezing with temps of -8 in the South.

Any truth in this you reckon ?

Apologies, just realised OYBBK posted the weather warning last night.

don't worry Gloria :) the risk has lessened for very stormy winds, but wide spread gales across the south still look likely.

Think the models struggled a bit with the direction the low was going but it looks like it's taking a slightly more southern route now towards northern France. Still going to be a rather windy day though, especially around SW/southern coasts.

We were in Southern Ireland yesterday morning and it was a very sharp frost. And when we got home, there was a good strong breeze (boats were flying along in the harbor) but it was fine and sunny at the same time (and temps around 8 but feeling a LOT colder!).

This morning, it was dull when I left home, and 6.5 degrees, but we have a rain warning for the afternoon and it is already raining (it was before 8.30!).
