Can you have look at the models for me please? Island in the Firth of Forth, not far from the Bridges next Saturday.

I have 2 worries:

  1. It'll be windy and the crossing will be very rough and I'll be sick on my new dress
  2. It's going to rain and there is no shelter on the island and I'll ruin my new shoes!

I'm afraid you may need wellies - at the moment it looks very wet. I'm so sorry. Winds look fairly calm though, so that is good? Bump occasionally and I'll update you :)

the models have changed a little overnight, showing you to be in a more favourable position rain wise. Fingers crossed!

Of course you may, but are you sure you want it???

Cos at the moment it looks terrible and I'm so sorry, I really hope the forecast changes. It looks like both thermals and wellies will be necessary at the moment. GFS shows a midday temp of 4c and heavy rain. Strong winds too.

UKMO doesn't look as bad though, not as windy and I think warmer.

ECMWF seems to be somewhere in between

Met office itself are going for dry and 10c.

Hang fire before you panic as its clear the models aren't agreeing I have no idea whichll be right!

Met office forecast is still a much kinder one than the gfs model ( which at least is showing it to be a little warmer now)

Oh dear. So it'll be sickness tablets and full oilskins then! Yikes! Who gets married in a ruin in the middle of the forth seriously!! The slightly good news is there is some shelter in the ruin, but it's limited. I'm hoping for women and children first!

Thank you, I'll maybe check back on Friday if I'm brave enough :o

Glaikit ....I got married up a hill in the Trossachs in November.....least I didn't involve boats!
Can you wear waterproofs on the island and change for the reception? Or is that on the island/boat too? Save your shoes.

You know glAikit, it's a more positive picture I think this evening. Some disparity in the models still but gfs is looking less wet and windy.
Met office still going for quite a decent day.

Glaikit, I'm in W Fife and have been looking at Saturday's forecast on various sites because we're going to the Fife show. Looks like it might be dry overhead but wellies required for underfoot. Weather has been shocking today, so much rain.

Is the wedding on Inchcolm? How romantic!

Yep Inchcolm then Orroco pier! I have wellies on standby and massive umbrellas, I have a cagoul(sp) but will only wear it if absolutely necessary!

OYBBK thank you so much! It's miserable again today. I really hope she gets a nice day, but I'm really not beleiving it!

We got married in January and everyone though we were mad, but we had a glorious day, crisp blue skies, cold but lovely! You just can't predict the weather! You get what you get!
