moved to Yorkshire at start of year (North) and have, over the past week or so, heard lots of comments from neighbours about how it snows frequently here, how it gets very icy and some of the rural roads (i,e us) are almost impassable due to the frost or snow

Just wondered how accurate they are, ahve never really lived in such a rural country area before. We lived in north of scotland for a few years and often got snowed in or out if the A9!

It depends very much where in north yorkshire you are. The Dales areas will get very snowy for a while January / February time. Certainly very icy as well.

Which part have you moved to?

Yes- distance London to birmingham one way and London to Cornwall the other way (or something like that)

Last winter wasn't too bad, we were only totally snowed in for a total of 8 days (not consecutively). They say this year will be worse though. Whereabouts are you?
