They are fun aren't they- even the kiddies keep checking it.

I'm very tempted to send for some more of the sensors for it Blush

Off to scout around the link you posted ....

I think its broken - there is no sun Hmm Wink

Kids loving it, i am moving the sensor 2mo - its by the front door and kind of looks like a doorbellHmm so will move it down a wee bit. Back garden is a bit too protected.

temperature sensor should ideally be 1.25m above the ground and if possible in a screen - if it is exposed to the sun you are just measuring the thermal capacity and emissivity/absorptivity of the sensor casing rather than the air temperature. I've made my own using white polystyrene packaging and it seems to compare well with the local official station.

There is a handy hole in the brickwork just level with DS2's head...probably about a meter or so in height. Its also out of direct sunlight. If you picture front door with a porch, it's in the porch part, except that i don't have a porch, more like a sheltered step

Confused yet?!

you need to be firm and say 'don't worry darling about my Christmas present this is what you've bought me - and get it.

(in my dreams)

We (as a family) were interviewed for a new magazine simply called 'Weather', I think!

We had just arrived in Scotland, after a 10 hour drive, through the night. Some scraggy lookin' interviewer, arrived at our caravan, whilst we were unloading and proceeded to ask us why the hell we would want to holiday somewhere so cold and wet!

We were in the beautiful, beautiful Highlands of Scotland fgs! Look around you, you dozy mare! Grin

Anyway. I don't know why I told you this or frankly why I highjacked your thread to do it, but there you go!

As you were! Grin

Please bear in mind, I did say I had been travelling for 10 hours and had been awake for over 24! The picture taken, possibily doesn't show my best side! Grin
