BLW and follow on milk

Hi,
Just a quick query. We have started BLW in the last week and DS is now 6 months so should I use the follow on milk for his milk feeds or stick with the regular one as you can use this upto a year (Aptamil).
I only ask as the follow on milk says it complements weaning but he is taking in such teeny amounts of food (but making tonnes of mess )at the moment that I'm not sure if it really counts!

use whichever you want. I only switched to follow on as it was cheaper, not because of the claims about extra iron, etc (the iron can be constipating)

So there isn't much difference apart from the additional iron then? Should really compare the packs in Tesco shouldn't I?!
Thanks

My HV told me there was more whey in the follow on milks, making the baby feel fuller. But she also said that if the baby was happy on first milk to stay on that, so I did.

I know, like alot of people I fell for Aptamil's good marketing
Shall carry on with the regular Aptamil and start using cows milk at a year old.

BorntoFolk - either your HV is misinformed or you have misunderstood her....there is less whey in follow on, and more casein which takes longer to digest.

I'm fairly sure I heard right but I did think it was weird at the time, which is partly why I stayed with the first milk.
