6 month old just gags when she tries food

My LG turns 6 months this week. I tried her on some baby rice and pear puree 2 weeks ago just to see if she liked it. She dribbled the rice out and then seemed to have tummy ache in evening so I stopped. Tried again with weetabix and formula (she is CMPI) but even though it was very smooth she gagged like mad! Then she refused to open her mouth. I have tried giving her bits of banana to hold and gum but she gagged on that (my toddler said "mummy, baby being sick!).
My 1st baby ate puree and rice/ porridge no problem, 2nd hated being fed but did BLW from the off. This one just doesn't seem to like food yet!! Should I wait a bit longer? Or any suggestions of other foods to try first?

If she is happy I would just leave her for now and just keep offering buts and bobs here and there but don't force it, it will come.

The gag reflex is there for a reason, to avoid choking. When babies first learn to swallow proper food or even thicker things they will gag because it's alien to them.

Try her with something she can suck? You can get those things where you shove some fruit in them and freeze them and then the baby can suck it. She might like one of them.

But defientley don't rush it. Fwiw my SIL was apparently 9 months before she would even entertain food

Thank you @Hannah1992. I am not unduly worried as she is my 3rd, guess it just shows how different they all are. Just wondered if I should be persevering or just going with the flow (which feels more normal to me).
But yes, just tried her on a couple of tiny spoons of a shop fruit puree...She gagged like mad, then frowned at me then spat out subsequent spoonfuls. That's a no then!

Ps she still lobes her milk so I guess thst is another sign, I seem to remember my others going off it a bit and trying to grab food off our plates. This one isn't doing any of that yet (although she watches us eat) so guess she isn't ready. Might look into the ice lollies though x

Yeah I'd just go with it. But do try the ice lollies she will get used to some new flavours if nothing else.
