Rice cakes

I have Organix rice cakes which say "from 7 months" on the packet - any reason I can't give them to DD (6 months 1 week)? She's doing BLW so handling them shouldn't be too much of a problem hopefully... and what about the little Organix carrot sticks?

can't think of a reason why not
(normal grownup unsalted rice cakes are cheaper though)

Look out for Kallo unsalted, hald the price and square so easier for little hands. DD had them from six months.

I think they say 7 months becase most babies who are weaned onto purees start finger food after about a month (or at least that's what the HV me told when 6 month old DD devoured a whole peach in front of her)...

the cow and gate ones say 6 months and they look exactly the same as the organix ones.

i used to buy the cow and gate organic ones as they're so much cheaper than organix. dd ate them from six months (liekwise moon biscuits). there's also a delicious (really delicious) oastcakes recipe on my blog at www.babyledweaning.com. easy peasy and totally yummy.

We get the 'Moo & Gate', as DD1 calls Cow & Gate for DD2 whenever we're out. They both had them from about 6 months.

I prefer to make oatcakes, too, as in the long run it's cheaper and we get really nice oats up here .
