My 7 month old still hasn't got the hand of weaning! She doesn't even open her mouth for any food in fact most the time she refuses it and clamps her mouth shut...

I know it's bad to do this but I look at other babies her age and they are doing fantastic with their weaning. I've tried baby led weaning but she doesn't even pay any interest to the food or if it does go in her mouth it never goes in again. So currently doing spoon feeding and I do manage to get a couple of mouthfuls in but that's at a push.

She does have Reflux and tongue tie but I've been told by HV that the tongue tie wouldn't have much to do with it and that it would if anything help the reflux! She's told me that she will eventually get the hang of it but I've been reading things about how they need the food for iron etc so now I'm worrying a bit!

Anyone else experienced this and how did you get your babies to love food? Any tips?

I think your HV is wrong on this one sorry. My DS had tt and we had an awful time with Weaning. Have you thought about getting it divided?

I have thought about it but was told it would be more of a major operation at this age and that it isn't severe because she can move her tongue? But we are having issues so maybe I should look into it and go to the GP.

Ours wasn’t picked up until much later and I really wish we’d had it done. He ended up having Speech Therapy on and off for years. I think it’s definitely worth considering. How’s her sleep too? Mine was an awful sleeper.
