Eats a huge amount for dinner and tea.
Cries in between meals, if she sees you eating when she hasn't got anything. Will devour your entire plate if she was allowed.

Gets particularly upset if she sees you eating a banana when she hasn't got one!

Is this normal, and are you supposed to give snacks to them? She ate the majority of my tea last night, after polishing off a huge plate of pasta, crumble, and hundreds of finger foods.

I have a 16 month old ds like this he eats tons. I have to give him slices of apple when if i'm eating dinner at a different time to him otherwise he's like a terrier at my heels! His favourite word is 'More!' I don't think it's a problem as long as you're giving healthy snacks and meals with all the crawling/walking/exploring they do they burn alot of energy.

DS did that at 10 months for a couple of weeks..scared me witless as he started eating 3 meals a day plus snacks & took virtually no bm at all (previously was having one or 2 meals a day & LOADS of bm)....thought he was weaning from the boob prematurely....but he went back to normal after a few weeks so put it down to a growth spurt....hes had several more since then & its been easier to relax about it now I know its normal

my 8 mo ds is a greedy wee man too. think it is normal, and probably a good thing. one of my mummy pals can't get her wee guy to eat much at all and he is very small and often poorly.
it is like having a dog again when you are trying to eat something!

Me too! I feel like dd - 10 months - would never stop eating if I kept giving her food! She sometimes cries when her meal is over until we distract her, and she has started screaming if we eat and she doesn't have anything (it's only polite, I suppose, to offer food to everyone, even babies who had their tea an hour before!)and she can eat a whole banana. I think she's curious about food, and a bit greedy, like me, and I'm hoping I'm not giving her too much or forming bad habits....

DD loves food. She has three meals a day (two courses everytime), BF morning, after work and before bed. For the first time tonight I gave her a weetabix before bed as she was very keen when she saw me eating. She ate it all and has gone out like a light. She is happy and healthy so I dont worry. I am just glad she loves food and will try anything. One of her faves is sardines. Yuk!!
