I should know what I'm doing as DD1 was more premature than DD2 and we weaned her successfully but I don't remember having the same problem. So DD2 is 6 1/2 months actual age (5 months corrected). Advice is to wean according to actual age as that's how long their digestive system has been working. She can hold her head steady but can't sit unaided. She is showing an interest in food and she seems "ready" which is probably why I'm surprised that she seems completely disinterested when we've tried to give her food. We have tried mashed carrot and today we tried some milk mixed with baby rice as I thought something with a familiar flavour might be better. But she just spits it back out and pulls a face.
Does this mean she's not ready? Should I persevere or try again in a few weeks?
