Use a chopping board. A heavy wooden one worked brilliantly for DS.

DS can pull it off of his high chair with a bit of effort. On our work surfaces I have to slide it off the edge to get them off Grin

Why not just put the food directly onto the highchair tray? My baby is not yet weaning, so I'm genuinely asking as to why a plate is necessary.

There is no highchair tray it's a me too (Phil and teds clamp on seat).
Chopping board worked a year though!

Treat not year!
