I started weaning DD at 5.5m starting on baby rice & purées (after she stole a chip from my plate & wolfed it downGrin!). It all went well & she was happily eating a decent mix of veg & protein mush plus a few bits & bobs of finger food until a week ago.

Now she's 7.5m and seems to have decided mush & spoon-feeding is not for her - the trouble is she's not eating any finger food either Blush. Over the last week she's been eating less and less at each mealtime, at tea today she literally ate nothing, not a single thing. She's also really objecting to even being at the table, she sits in her chair and cries her little heart out - like I'm doing something really awful to her! As soon as we leave the table (I try to stick it out for at least 30mins) the tears dry up and she's happy again...

Am I doing something wrong? Am I not doing something I should be doing? Will she just start eating again when she feels like it?

My 8 month old is exactly the same, we were progressing so well, with a good mix of finger food and spoon feeding, meat and veg, savoury and sweet was all going like a dream. Suddenly this week she has become a spoon refuser and chucks all the finger food on the floor! I'm putting it down to teeth/phase and just continuing to offer her 3 meals a day...and hoping it will pass soon Grin

Agree its probably just a phase. Just try to remember that food is just a little addition to the milk. She won't starve as long as she is getting her bfs or the 20floz of formula each day.

Thanks for the reassurance, I'll keep offering the food at mealtimes and hope that one day she'll decide she does want to eat some of it!

She is still drinking all her milk which is good (and a relief!), and has two little teeth so maybe they are something to do with it!

Presumably just one of many, many phases to come huh?!
