what finger foods to give 7 month old?

Ds is 7 months and eats most things. He has been weaned on pureed foods but has bits of pasta and stuff now. As for finger foods he has finger biscuits (couple of times a week), rice cakes, banana (had to cut this out though because it gave him tummy cramps) and toast and after that I just dont know. I would like his tea to be finger foods so I can eat at the same time without him crying and reaching for my food but dont want anything too faffy as day to day its not always feesible to be home an hour before his tea to prepare something. am happy to spend time preparing in advance tho. thanks

Scrambled egg? Vegetable batons and dip, breadsticks and houmous, frittata cut into pieces he can pick up and gum.

Great suggestions, thanks. hadnt considered eggs or bread sticks, think i am only just starting to relax a bit about what he eats! do you cook the veg sticks or give them raw? I did give him some carrot sticks once but cooked them and he just mushed them with his hands

If he can manage toast and rice cakes he can manage raw veg Smile. What about some raw veg, like sticks of cucumber, peppers or carrots with some hummus.

If you need a bit more inspiration, I got this book from our local library and its great Smile.

Thanks, I suppose I am still a bit nervous about giving him new things. Cant help but worry about choking. Will try him with raw veg. When I cooked it for him I cooked it so long the poor feller couldn't even pick it up, it just disintegrated Blush

If you are worried about choking (he's going to have to have proper food at some point Grin) then see if your local Children's Centre or the Red Cross do Paed First Aid. That way you know what to do if he does choke.

Not feeding him new foods is no guarantee that he won't choke though, I've heard of babies choking on purees and like I said, if he can handle toast and rice cakes he will be fine with other food Smile.
