I know in the whole scheme of things I shouldn't worry about it but I'm stressing over what foods and how much I should be giving our 8mo. Really stressing! I know it's daft!!
I've gone the traditional route rather than BLW and LOs are veggy (with fish)
Does anyone have a link for how much protein they should have or give me an idea of the meals you do?
Thanks

GET A GRIP! Better? Seriously though, I found I worried a lot at first too. I recommend the Annabel Carmel books. All the recipes say what vits etc are in them and there's plenty of veggie and fishy recipes. And don't worry too much.

Thanks, elf. Yes, I've been cooking from the AK books and they are great. I just worry that as they are geared to babies who eat meat I'm not sure what I should be replacing the meat they're missing out on with. Her recipes with lentils are great...but I'm wearing myself out with all this cooking. And worrying!!!
What do you give for teas? Do you (or did you) do things like soup and bread, beans on toast etc - or another proper dinner?

Hello Jumblejam.
I also used to stress about such things too. My little lady is also veggie and so I wanted to make sure that she was getting enough good stuff and the right amount (I remember asking the health visitor about portion sizes and she said that the baby will tell you have much she wants- I didn't find it very helpful at the time!). I didn't use AK but tried to work on the basis of giving my daughter the same kind of food that we ate. I also did some research into how much protein, iron etc. she needed and developed some recipes. I decided to put these up on a blog, which you can see here:
broccoliandricecakes.wordpress.com/
Most of the recipes can be mashed down to give textures for younger ones (try the butter bean and sweetcorn chowder broccoliandricecakes.wordpress.com/2012/08/21/butter-bean-and-sweetcorn-chowder/) but I am soon going to be putting more recipes up that might be suitable for an 8 month old (mine is now 17mnths). I found quinoa is a brilliant resource, cooked with veggies or something like millet. But otherwise soups, bean casseroles/ stews. I liked to offer finger food so tried to provide bits that she could eat with her hands too. Anyway, I hope this helps and you find my blog useful.

Thanks so much, Drladybird. That is all really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'll add your blog to my favourites!
Funnily enough, my HV said exactly the same thing when I asked about portion sizes.
