Weaning

milk before meal or after?

DS is nearly 10 months old.

Since starting weaning at 6 months, I've given him his bottle of milk before the meal, waiting about 45 mins to an hour before giving him the solids.

I've noticed recently that he's sometimes getting hungry for food a bit quicker.

I worry that when I have to go back to work in a few months, it will be hard to fit in milk and breakfast, as I won't have the luxury of time in the mornings.

But milk is important so don't want him to go without...

How do other people deal with this? Do babies ever get to the point where they just want food? Or they get the milk to drink at the same time as they have breakfast?

TIA

At breakfast, I kept the milk feed before the solids for quite a while - until they were quite big toddlers. In another couple of months, you will be able to switch to a sippy cup, so it actually quite easy.

All the other meals at usual times, and you move towards water with meals. Milk feeds switch to "snack" times ie mid morning, mid afternoon, and bedtime.

My youngest starts school next week, and still likes milk first thing, mid afternoon, and before bed.
