Any thoughts?

I'm not actually playing at the moment (in fact my PC has been cannibalised by DH.....) but I've no doubt that I'll be back to give it a go. I'm not thrilled with the setting (then again I thought the same about WoD and I did rather enjoy that) but there's never yet been an expansion that I haven't enjoyed to some degree.

I'll be glad to see the back of garrisons, great idea but far too much of a time sink especially with multiple max level characters. They were one of the main reasons I took a break, they were far too integral to the end game.

I also like that they've said they're going to make dungeons much more integral to the game than they were in WoD. I love doing dungeons and it was a real negative point for me that it was (at least last time I was playing) so tough to get into them.

So on the whole I'm quite optimistic. I've no doubt I'll get a decent amount of play time out of it which is al l I can ask for really plus it gives me an excuse to start playing again

Anyone else?

I'm looking forward to it in honesty. I haven't played much WoW since August as that's when my little one came along, but I'm just getting back into it again.

I've enjoyed WoD but like yourself I haven't been a fan of Garrisons. It was great at first but now it takes too much away from the game and the quests.

I'm wondering if this expansion might be the end for Varian Wynn. They've been building Anduin up lately, and Varian seems to have gone from irritating to mildly likeable.

We'll see. I hope they do something similar that they did with the portal (it turning colour) we stopped up for that and it was great fun!

I've not really played WoW 'properly' since the first few raids in Mists of Panderia. I played a bit of WoD, but couldn't really get into it - my guild had kind of dropped off, so the social side was gone. I've still pre-ordered Legion though, it's traditional!

I came onto the Gaming board specifically to see if anyone had mentioned Legion! Amused to see 2 comments have been deleted - is online gaming so controversial?? Grin
I can't WAIT for Legion! I've only been playing WoW for a year or so and only have 1 max level character, but am bloody obsessed. The trailer for Legion looks AWESOME (cartoon crush - Varian Wrynn!)
Totally agree about Garrisons being a waste of time. Not sure how I feel about the dungeons being integral to the game - I'm don't do dungeons often as there's always a few dickheads on there who have a fit when you make a mistake... maybe that'll change with Legion.

There's loads of good info about all the upcoming changes in the Legion sidebar on Wowhead.

On the whole I'm very excited. I like that they're trying to make the different talent specs for each class more distinct. The class halls sound good and I love the idea of the artefact weapons.

I'm not entirely convinced by some of the changes they're making to BM hunters (which my main is) but it's still early days.

It'd be brilliant to have a proper world event before the expansion again. I remember back when TBC came out and we were fighting off demons or the undead invasion before WotLK, awesome stuff!!

Quite intrigued about the class changes, one of the reasons I dropped off from playing was that the different classes had been simplified and started to blend into one another.
