Has anyone booked a Sun holiday and not been able to go?

We wanted a cheap getaway that we could use to kick off our camping holiday and so booked one of those scum sorry, Sun holidays

However, we got our last choice dates which aren't really convenient so we are wondering if someone else could go in our place. It states that these holidays are not transferrable but is that just something they all say to stop people flogging the holidays? Has anyone ever done it? Last thing I want is to give the holiday to someone and they aren't allowed in!!!

I'm sure it would be fine.
SIL has been instead of us on at least one occasion. She just checked in in our name, no questions asked.
