Any good tips for interesting food shops in West of Scotland?

We're off on a trip soon in a camper van and would love to visit farm shops, local bakeries, fish shops, delis etc. I've struggled to find much more than little Co-ops or Spars on the West Coast of Scotland. We can't afford to eat out much but would love to support local producers if we could find them. We're travelling between Ullapool and Arran roughly.

Loch Fyne oyster bar has a shop too which looked nice.

not a food shop but you must pay a visit to nardinis .It is in Largs which is a lovely town.

If you're near Loch Fyne, there's the oyster farm shop which sells more than oysters, see www.lochfyne.com/. Oban probably has various delis, and they will often sell Scottish products. The Isle of Arran itself has very good cheese, lots of shops/delis stock it in Glasgow so probably same elsewhere. There's also this shop near Fort William: www.lochaberfarmshop.com/

any chip shop for a deep fried mars bar (or pizza). Make sure its accompanied by a big swi9g of irn bru. :-)

Thanks - some v useful links. We've visited the Loch Fyne shop a couple of years ago and it was fab. Just need more of the same. Will hunt through the links.

Lots of places in Arran too. The cheese shop just out of Broddick has a great Deli. Try googling to find local farmers markets. Most places have one at least once a month so you may be lucky.
