We've also just booked at Whinfell Forest. We're going with friends who've been before and think it's great.

Have you discovered trip advisor? Google that and you'll find a website to ask or seek any sort of travel advice. I never go anywhere unless I've checked that first.

Whinfell gets mixed reviews but the opinion of my friends was enough.

Hi, there are absolutely loads of threads about Center Parcs on here, just do a search.

We have been to Whinfell a few times, I specifically remember that the doors do have an inside chain as DS was at a very inquisitive age and unfortunately could reach and unchain it and make varied attempts at freedom.

Bring or hire bicycles, bring your own disposable bbq and plan on going to the pool at non peak times.

It's fab, enjoy.

Thanks you two
My little boy is like houdini so i hope there are more than chains now!!
Friends of mine go too and they think it's great.
I've pre booked a pony trek and teddy bear making but think i will leave the rest to fate. Have a fab time mogwai

I got back from Whinfell today. I went with husband and 17 mth old and stayed in Confort accomodation. Like you I had read some negative reviews on trip advisor, but we had a really lovely time.

Accomodation was as described and 'comfortable and clean'. Yes, there were locks on the door and patio door and we felt really safe.

The setting is perfect, surrounded by trees. Extremely clean throughout the whole parc, veryu child friendly. Our daughter was in her element running around all over. Book restaurants on your final night as everyone seems to eat out then.

I don't know what age child/children you are taking, but we were using their cot and had to literally move the whole spare bedroom around to fit it in as there was not any room for it to fit in there and we wanted her to have her own room. We ended up putting one single bed on its side to fit it in!

We went last year and are off there again in 3 weeks. Can't wait - it's absolutely lovely and the doors locked - felt completely safe.

you'll have a great time and I'm counting down the days until we're there again!
