We're going to Tenby in late June and looking for things to do with DS.

Any suggestions?

If the weather's good you can't beat the beach with a bucket and spade. There's a soft play place ocean commotion in the town, lots of boat trips to choose from, and folly farm is not far.

The Bluestone development isn't far away, I think the pool is open to the public in the afternoons (check on their website), not sure what the charge is.

Catch the bus to Saundersfoot and have fish and chips on the beach there.

Would second Folly Farm - its lovely and you can easily spend a whole day there. Tenby beaches are gorgeous and Tenby has a lovely ice cream parlour where your Ds could get a sundae twice the size of him if he wanted to. If you can brave a walk Barafundle Bay is beautiful with plenty of good sand for sandcastles

Brilliant, thank you - hadn't come across Folly Farm yet.

Should have said, me and DP have been to Tenby before but it was pre-DS and we just spent a lot of time in restaurants and bars... obvously things are different now
One of the reasons we're going there is the amazing beaches, and we're lucky to have a self-catering place near the coast

Anybody know how buggy-friendly Pembroke Castle is? Went there as a kid, and have very vague memories of the place.

As far as I remember, Pembroke Castle has a few short flights of steps that you could carry a buggy up, there are lots of paths and flat areas inside so fairly buggy friendly as long as you don't expect to get it right to the top. Some areas might be inaccessable but you could carry DS for a bit instead. I'd give them a ring first and ask.

There is loads to do in Tenby but hopefully the weather will be fab for you and you'll be able to enjoy the beaches. Try to avoid the tiny harbour beach though, it's not the best on offer. We usually walk along the prom and then up the private stepped path to the Forecroft Hotel, they have a lovely, almost secluded cottage garden opposite the hotel where non residents can enjoy a drink. Very relaxing.

I use this website alot, find it very useful. There's an A-Z list under places to visit tab.

I haven't been yet but planning on taking the kids here for the day over half term.

On the weekend I'm planning on going to Carew castle & tidal mill with the kids, mainly because we can take the dog with us and it's a lovely walk
