Where can you stay on a farm and feed the animals?

Looking for somewhere to take 2yr old dd who loves animals.

We live in South East, not far from London. We couldnt travel too far obv. as dd isnt great on long journeys.

Would also need it to be reasonably priced

We were looking at that place Miss Piggy - did you enjoy it? I agree with Phoenix that Bosinver is lovely. I want to go there in September but they are fully booked for the cottage I like.

How about here? We stayed here last year and had a lovely time - our little boy loved it. Very reasonably priced too.

Buddelia this time - the first cottage with sun room on the paddock. Have always fancied Coliza.
We took T when he was just under 4mo.

They got a new pygmy goat on Monday, in the shed with a couple of black lambs and v skittish, but he went for a walk up to the field to get Secret & Rupert on Friday - on a lead, so so so sweet. Planning for when Chalky is no more

And the foxes seem to be fewer so the ducks are on the loose round the site again (not been for the last couple of years we have been there) so we had ducks knocking (with beaks) on the sun room doo to be fed.

Just looked at prices for next year and the same week (well is a week later, but the week before May half term) is £655 - so I don't think I am going again.

No there were no animals roaming when we went last year so that will be good

I've just looked for next year too. Ds is at pre school now so we'll need to work around that a bit so may look at around this time next year rather than September. I refuse to go in school hols though and pay £100's more.

I wouldn't worry about pre-school, go in September.
Personally I wouldn't take out of actual school in September (start of the year, settling in etc) but have no quarms about doing so in the summer term (ds1 is yr1 now and I took him the week before half term both this year and last).

Hum - rethinking that, next September he will be at school won't he - that is frightening!

Yes i know that's why i'm thinking earlier while he's still at pre school. I'm gonna get dh to have a look tomorrow at the cottages in our price range for 21/22 May 2010 and possibly book one (might end up been apple or pear though.)

My parents always took us on holiday in term time and i don't have a problem with doing the same.
