The Old Park Hotel - Isle of Wight - anyone been recently?

Hi - can anybody help me! has anyone stayed here recently. I have seen some posts but all seem quite old. Website looks lovely, but some of the reviews on trip adviser are really not good. I think hotel was closed earlier in the year - not sure why? This will be our big holiday so really don't want to book somewhere we will regret! We are not looking for 5 star luxury but do want clean, safe and good service. We have 3 kids, 2,4 & 6. Would be really interested if anyone has recent experience of this hotel. Thanks for reading this.

We've been there several times in the last few years. It's been excellent every time.

I can highly recommend it for your age-group children. It's not classy elegance for the adults, but the food is nice, the rooms are comfortable, the staff are helpful, all the guests have young children so are tolerant, the grounds are fantastic, and the location is excellent. The baby listening works.

In our experience with three dcs under 8, a good holiday is one where the children enjoy themselves and the parents get a break from the children (at least some of the time). That is exactly what OPH provides.

No experience of the hotel but we went to the isle of Wight last year and stayed with Park Resorts and had a great time, we stayed in a mobile home but the site was great and we had some lovely days out.

We went a few years ago and it was fab - very child friendly and comfortable to stay in - lovely garden and walk through the woods down to a beach. Would definitely go again!
