Where can we go...

Pretty please help us. We have a week next month free, I've started another thread but can't find it.

Basically, we live in Bucks and will be travelling from London by train. However, DS is staying with DP's mother up North so can travel from Manchester by train too.

We want something nice and quiet but not dead so we're bored stupid all week.

T0 sum-up, somewhere we can get to by train (Euston/Manchester) and that is fairly quiet and quaint but not deserted!

what about Northumberland, lovely scenery, beaches little towns.
But then close enough to Newcastle if you wanted to go to the Theatre Royal or just have a nice meal and night out on the lash
