My Dad has tried various ones round Wimborne and his favourite is Long Lane Farmhouse run by Mrs Smyth ( You will need to scroll down the link). I'm not sure if she has a family room or not but she does have children of her own and he got the impression that it was more of a hobby for her so she is less likely to be booked up. Not sure if it is close enough to Blandford for you, about 15 mins.

English Country Cottages do have one available but flipping expensive.
