Group holiday with separate accommodation

Does anyone have any recommendations for a group holiday for 3 families? It's with my family of 4, sister's family of 4 and our parents but my parents could ideally do with their own living space for some peace (I don't mind sharing with my sisters family if need be). Kids are all under 6 so ideally child friendly but near a beach and fishing would be perfect. Holiday cottages are preferable (rather than holiday parks).

We stayed with family in chalets at Caswell Bay in south Wales. It was brilliant as we each had our own space and the park is quiet but a short walk from the beach. It was one of our best holidays with family.

What about glamping? We're supposed to be going in September with family to one in north Norfolk.

We stayed in Watermouth Castle which has 7 apartments - booked via Cottages.com and would recommend that. There's an indoor pool which you get for sole use normally 2 hours a day, sometimes 1 hour, roughly 12 metres long, 50 acre gardens currently closed to public but can wander round, crazy golf and crazy snooker are open to apartment guests.

It's on the north Devon coast, and overlooking the harbour. Lots of little beaches driveable from there and lots of fishing and boat trips from Ilfracombe to see coast, seals and maybe dolphins / porpoise. We went with Ilfracombe Sea Safari and Wild Frontier Charters.

Another one we saw but didn't stay at and has lots for kids was Puddleduck Valley though that's more inland but has goats, rowing boats etc, few apartments and 2 yurts I think.

Friends of ours go away each year with their family and stay here www.whalesborough.co.uk/cottages-large-groups, they really recommend it. Close to the beach etc

These suggestions are brilliant, thank you. Currently adding to my holiday notes. Whalesborough could tick quite a few boxes and going to google Watermouth Castle now.

Glamping is a possibility as well, I'd love to do it. Hadn't even thought of Wales so will look at that suggestion also.
