Norfolk in May half-term

We plan to go to Norfolk in May half term but can't really decide where exactly.

We never been to the area, it was decided because DD wants to see the seals and visit Sandringham. We are there for 4 nights (Friday - Tuesday) and want to rent a cottage.

So, please help an ignorant person. Is the Kings Lynn area nice to explore for a couple of days? Or shall we stay around Great Yarmouth and just do a day trip to the other side?

I would suggest North Norfolk - Wells-next-the-sea is lovely.
Personally I would avoid kings Lynn and Yarmouth but depends what you're looking for.

Holt, Brancaster, etc are lovely.

If you're coming mainly for the seals I would suggest earlier than May if possible! They are all over the beachs at the moment but come May you will probably want to take a boat trip to try and find them!

Thanks. Sorry, May is the only time. Friends went last year with the boat trip and saw quite a lot, so fingers crossed.

We hope for a bit of sightseeing, nature parks, country walks, nice restaurants, if the weather is decent going down to the beach,

Oh you'll definetly see plenty on a boat trip!

If you are looking for the nice "countryside" getaway then North Norfolk is your best bet. Holt country park is gorgeous as is Sheringham park and there are plenty of places to hire a day boat for a trip on the broads.
I would recommend a day at Holkham estate, it's beautiful.
Avoid Yarmouth but if you want a day not in the countryside then Norwich is a great city with lots of historic sights as well as shops/cinema/etc.

Hope you have a lovely trip, it's a fantastic part of the country

Rent somewhere kind of equi-distant so round Docking, the Burnhams, perhaps North/South Creake or Wells. Don't go to Yarmouth.
